Rein de Graaff is one of the unsung heroes of European jazz. A superb pianist in his own right, he is renowned as a master accompanist, a match for the biggest and most demanding of jazz stars. Over the years, he has recorded with most of them and these eight pieces are favourites from his vast archive. They feature, among others, saxophonists Teddy Edwards, Ronnie Cuber and Harold Land, trumpeter Valery Ponomarev and vibraphonist Dave Pike. Every track is packed with great moments, many of them the work of de Graaff himself.
