He may be too young to drink in the venues on the extensive tour One Night Only are starting this week, but front "man" George Craig is old enough to sing like he means it. While other 17-year-olds are studying for their A-levels or battering PS2s, this one seems to have vaulted over the awkward stage of adolescence to become cool beyond his years. His band's selling point is not that they are producing anything the indie-rock world doesn't already stock in abundance, but that, as teenagers, they do it with such a sure touch. Their debut album is crammed with jingly-jangly moments that more than hold their own; the best two, Just for Tonight and You and Me, have the addictive quality of early Supergrass (referenced in the song title It's Alright). Craig's classic soaraway vocals are the icing on the cake.
