There have been few dub reworkings of pop albums since Massive Attack allowed Mad Professor to tamper with Protection 16 years ago, resulting in the shadowy No Protection. Here, Dennis Bovell performs a similar feat, the one-time member of reggae act Matumbi transforming the electro-soul of Mason's Boys Outside – which was released last year to much acclaim – into an effortless, reverb-drenched affair. For the most part Mason's voice virtually disappears, but the best tracks, notably "Dub on My Heel", combine a leisurely spirit of adventure with the melancholia of Boys Outside.
