Andrew Kennedy was also on duty at the Barbican as a soloist in a Mozart Requiem recorded for LSO Live to mark the 80th birthday of Sir Colin Davis. It was, by the maestro's standards, a humdrum performance, perhaps overshadowed by the scintillating piano concerto which preceded it. In K595 the peerless Mitsuko Uchida confirmed her pre-eminence as a Mozart soloist, offering wit, sparkle and gravitas with that most perfectly judged of touches.
