I've just got a new record player and I can't turn off Histoire de Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg. There's something about that era of French instrumental pop music, and Jean-Claude Vannier's arrangements are amazing. I'm also one of the guys who's been working his way obsessively through The Wire DVD box sets; it's just superbly well written and a very fresh take on the cop show blueprint. And I had to stop reading Woody Allen's Complete Prose on the bus the other day because I was belly laughing out loud.
