Holy Ghost! are Brooklyn duo Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel and the latest ambassadors of James Murphy's DFA label. On this four-track EP, they hardly stray from DFA's signature sound: at the crossroads between 70s disco and 80s synth-pop, with funk basslines overlaid by aerated electronics. Familiar or not, however, these five- and six-minute grooves unspool with sinuous grace, complemented by vocals that match Hot Chip for dreamy tenderness. You'd hope for more tricks come an album proper, but for the moment, this'll do nicely.
