After taking a 180-degree turn from new rave (or indie-dressed-up-as-dance) to something approaching nu-metal on their second album, Klaxons come full circle on their third – "Now we're wholeheartedly making dance music," they claimed recently. At their most wholehearted – There Is No Other Time is full-blown disco, with barely a mention of telepathy or space travel – you can feel them really straining for a hit. The album works better when they retreat into more esoteric regions, as on The Dreamers, which speaks – in a manner that will reassure old fans – of doorways melting, tapestries dancing and mountains talking.
